Jojo receiving the SLD award from SLD chair Dr. Cynthia Fisher

We are very excited to share great accomplishments within our lab this Fall. Congratulations to PhD student Anqi (Jojo) Hu for being one of the two winners of the 2022 Society for Language Development (SLD) Student Award for her presentation on the “Greater Plasticity in the Language Network in Children than Adult During Statistical Learning.” Jojo presented this research at the Boston University Conference on Language Development (BUCLD) in early November 2022.

We would also like to recognize second year Behavioral Neuroscience major Emily Cohen, one of our Research Assistants in the lab, for winning the Ascent PEAK Award for Fall 2022 at Northeastern University! The PEAK Experiences Awards are a progressively structured sequence of opportunities designed to support undergraduate students in their research and creative endeavors. The project she is focusing on is the “Effects of Social Cognition on Vocabulary Development in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder — an Eye Tracking Study” under the guidance and mentorship of PhD student Jojo Hu. https://undergraduate.northeastern.edu/research/news/fall-2022-peak-experience-awardees-leap-into-autumn/
