Predicting Language and literacy growth in Autistic children Using Statistical Learning

How do little ones decipher patterns in speech and print? And do these processes wield their transformative influence on language and literacy growth as children step into the realm of school?

We have been awarded a high-priority short-term NIDCD grant (R56). Starting in Fall 2023, we will conduct an accelerated longitudinal study in autistic and non-autistic six-year-olds. This study is a collaboration among the QLAB, the TELL Lab at the University of Delaware, the Communication Neuroscience Research Lab at Boston University, and the Cognitive Science of Language Laboratory at Cornell University.
